Brown Brother...

At Mount Roskill Grammar all the prefects and to present a speech for the school. Instead of presenting a speech a prefect Joshua Iosefo delivered a poem, “Brown Brother”.  His friend Rashad had posted it on youtube where it was noticed by Campbell live.

The message that Joshua was trying to give was don’t listen to stereotypes and don’t be afraid to change. Don’t limit yourself from what other people think because you know you can do better. Ptengland school had a korero this morning about how to herenga ki te whetu “Reach For The Stars”. A korero is a motivational message that needs to be highlighted or focused on at school. Well with this you're reaching to the top to succeed which is exactly the same message that Joshua was trying to give.

The first thing I said to myself when I heard this was “That is true”. What I have learnt from this was not to believe in stereotypes, believe in yourself that you can reach to the top and succeed. It really makes me set a really high goal.
